The project "Sustainable Use of Groundwater Resources and Safe Drinking Water in Gjakova" started as a grant awarded by the US Embassy in Kosovo
The opening of the project "Sustainable Use of Groundwater Resources and Safe Drinking Water in Gjakova" was held On 17.12.2019 in the premises of the Rectorate of the University of Gjakova "Fehmi Agani".
Attending the meeting were the Vice-Rector Assoc. Dr. Lulzim Zeneli, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Roza Allabashi from the University of Bock Vienna (Austria) as a partner in this project, the project coordinator Prof. Ass. Dr. Antigona Ukëhaxhaj , Prof. Assoc. Dr. Dardan Koçinaj and Ass. Arben Bosnjaku MSc from the Faculty of Medicine, as well as Mr. Denis Spahija MSc from the UGJFA International Relations Office.
The meeting was opened by the Vise-Rector welcoming the professor from Vienna. Vise-Rector briefed the professor on the achievements and plans of the University of Gjakova "Fehmi Agani" and the Faculty of Medicine in particular.
Prof Allabashi on her part and on the behalf of the institution she represents in this project, expressed her readiness for inter-institutional cooperation and further development in similar fields of research between the two countries and institutions.
During this meeting Prof. Dr. Ass. Dr. Antigona Ukëhaxhaj informed the participants about the activities of this project, its importance for the Municipality of Gjakova in the given area, as well as the work packages to be developed during it. She also provided details on the project, budget, methodology of collection, conservation, dispatch and analysis of samples in the laboratory as well as subsequent publication of data and findings.
