“Fehmi Agani” University joins the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED)

On the 30th of August, 2021, the rector of the University "Fehmi Agani" in Gjakova, prof. ass. dr. Artan Nimani has received the official confirmation for membership in the Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED), by the President, Prof. Francisco Matte Bon.

Rector Nimani, through a response expressed gratitude for admission to UNIMED and offered full readiness to cooperate, in order to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions.

The purpose of UNIMED membership is to develop research and education in the Euro-Mediterranean area in order to contribute to scientific, cultural, social and economic cooperation, operating in various scientific fields.

Also, the rector prof. ass. dr. Artan Nimani is invited to take part in the "Joint Week" in Brussels, which will be held online from the 14th to the 30th of September, where members will discuss with the European Commission about evolution for the coming period 2021-2027 and policies that aim to boost cooperation and improve integration at all levels in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

The Union of Mediterranean Universities (UNIMED) was founded in October 1991 by Prof. Franco Rizzi, is an association of universities from the Mediterranean basin countries. Through numerous initiatives undertaken over nearly three decades, UNIMED has promoted cooperation between Mediterranean universities, becoming a benchmark for international university cooperation.
