Prof.Ass.Dr. Artan Nimani participated in the international conference "Social Cohesion in the Black Sea Region" organized by a network of universities in the Black Sea region in cooperation with the Parliamentary Assembly for Economic Cooperation of the same region (PABSEC), Ankara University and the University of Bucharest.

The theme of this conference was motivated by the complexity of  the issues of social cohesion at the European and regional political scales that amplifies the effects of these actions and it is often directed towards confrontations, claims or even open conflicts.

The conference aims to offer a framework for free debates facilitating the exchange of ideas and knowledge in order to identify new directions to be followed for conceiving the policies addressing social cohesion in the Black Sea area.

In the current context, when the Black Sea Region became an area of confrontations in many spheres, as economic, geostrategic, social, military, but even at spiritual spheres, it is the responsibility of the academic community to collaborate with all members of the society to assume the intellectual social responsibility and to promote dialogue and mutual respect as the fundamental background for peace and prosperity in our region.

At the event, there were invited academics, students, members of parliament, representatives of local authorities, representatives of national minorities, experts in the field, ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions of BSEC member countries and other international organizations, journalists.
