Today, on December 9, 2024, in a solemn ceremony, was laid the cornerstone of the University Campus of the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova, starting with the object of the Faculty of Medicine. This solemn action marks the beginning of a project that represents a huge step forward in the further development of Higher Education in our country and wide. The celebration of this day was attended by prominent figures from education, academia, and the legislative and executive branches of our country.
The ceremony was opened with a welcoming speech, wherein it was emphasized the importance of this investment in the advancement of academic infrastructure and for the creation of the new opportunities for students.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Mrs. Arbërie Nagavci emphasized that this campus is a clear example of the education of the institutions to strengthen the educational system in the country. Furthermore, the Minister added that MESTI has been and will always be a strong supporter of projects that impact directly the quality of education and the provision of the future professionals who will serve the job market in the country and wide.

The Rector of the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova, Prof. Ass.Dr. Drilon Bunjaku in his speech emphasized the importance of this historical day. He expressed his gratitude for the support of the government and all parties included in the realization of this massive project, adding that the placement of this cornerstone is an expression of the willingness to offer high academic standards and an environment where experts and leaders of the future may be fashioned. Rector Bunjaku emphasized that he will continue to be engaged maximally in the further development of the institution, and that his commitment will be focused in the implementation of the strategic plan of the University, as well as in the fulfilment of the vision of the University.

The construction of the Campus is expected to impact the increase in the quality of education and the further development of the University "Fehmi Agani" in Gjakova as a centre of academic excellence in the Dukagjini region, with programs directly related to the needs of the job market.
