Prof. Ass. Dr. Nazli Tyfekçi and Prof. Ass. Dr. Arben Boshnjaku have been appointed as the new Vice-Rectors of the University "Fehmi Agani"

The vice-rectors of the University "Fehmi Agani," Prof. Ass. Dr. Nazli Tyfekçi,  in charge of International Cooperation and Projects, and Prof. Ass. Dr. Arben Boshnjaku for Scientific Research, Academic Development, and Quality Assurance, officially have started the work today.

Rector Bunjaku congratulated the Vice-Rectors on their new positions and expressed his conviction and full confidence that professionalism, potential, experience, and willingness are synonymous with the new management of "Fehmi Agani" University and that together their combined efforts will advance scientific research, expansion of networking, and improve quality assurance of the University


Short Biography

Prof. Ass. Dr. Nazli Tyfekçi

Nazli Tyfekçi, born in 1977 in Prizren, has been a distinguished lecturer at the Faculty of Philology at the University of Gjakova "Fehmi Agani" since 2015.

Dr. Tyfekçi's educational journey is an exemplary demonstration of unwavering commitment to knowledge. She earned her Ph.D. from St. Cyril and Methodius University in North Macedonia. Her academic foundation was established at the University of Pristina, where she completed her master's and bachelor's studies. Her research interests encompass the field of linguistic methodology in general and metacognition as a reading methodology in particular, as well as bilingualism in multicultural environments, spanning from theory to design and implementation.

She stands out in the world of academia due to her rich experience in the fields of education and research. For four years, she has successfully led the English Language Department at the Faculty of Philology. Her contributions and expertise were essential to the development and success of this department.

In addition to her academic commitments, Dr. Tyfekçi is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of the international scientific journal "Journal of Social Education and Interdisciplinary Science" at "Fehmi Agani" University in Gjakova. She also serves as Co-Chief Editor for the International Scientific Journal "Prizren Social Science Journal." Furthermore, she has organized a number of conferences for UFAGJ and serves as an editor for several well-known national and international journals. Her extensive experience on seminar program committees is an additional testament to her dedication to promoting scholarly exchange and discussion. Since 2016, she has held the role of executive director of the NGO "Association of Scientists and Intellectuals of Kosovo.

Dr. Tyfekçi has been a visiting lecturer in Hungary and Turkey, sharing her expertise and experience with students and colleagues in international settings.

In 2021, she was awarded recognition for her outstanding performance as a lecturer in the Faculty of Philology at UFAGJ.

Recently, Dr. Tyfekçi served as the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Projects at UFAGJ, where she promoted numerous collaborations with universities and international institutions, enriching the academic environment at UFAGJ.

Prof. Ass. Dr. Arben Boshnjaku

Prof. Ass. Dr. Arben Boshnjaku PhD is a teacher at the Faculty of Medicine of "Fehmi Agani" University in Gjakova. He completed his primary and secondary education in Gjakovë, while he completed his basic studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pristina, Physiotherapy department. He completed his first master's degree at the Medical University of Tirana, and the second at the University of Prishtina ("Training of Trainers" program funded by the European Union office in Kosovo under the guidance of a consortium of European universities). Dr Boshnjaku completed his doctoral studies at the "PhaNuSpo" Doctoral School at the University of Vienna in Austria, receiving the title “Doctor of Philosophy” (PhD). The main topics of scientific interest are the physiology of aging, muscle physiology and gerontology. He is also the author/co-author of 21 publications in internationally peer reviewed journals (https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4343-9366), of which 16 being within the SCOPUS platform (Scopus Author ID: 57192372957) as well as 2 professional scientific monographies. Among the distinguished studies, within the "Active Aging Platform" of the University of Vienna, Dr. Boshnjaku has explored the biological, genetic and socio-epidemiological factors that affect expected life expectancy at birth among the elderly in Kosovo.

Dr. Boshnjaku is the Kosovo’s country coordinator in the European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education (ENPHE) and a member of the research group within this organization. On the other hand, he was responsible for designing the bachelor's program’s curricula, the development of various academic subjects in the programs of UFAGJ, the physiotherapy assistant program at the Centre of Competences throughout Kosovo, and now is in charge of the working group for the development of the master's program in physiotherapy. Moreover, Dr. Boshnjaku has extensive expertise in various national and international scientific and capacity-building projects, being the local leader/expert of 3 third-party funded scientific projects and 2 capacity-building projects.
