A prize winning contest for the menorah of the FUTURE

Students, Alumni, and Academic Staff Members – You are Invited to Enter Prize-winning Competition for re-engineer the eight-branched ‘menorah’ candelabra and present your engineering solution for the menorah of the Future. A menorah that combines robotics, 3D printing, electronics, chemistry, physics, mechanical and ecological components, or a menorah that incorporates a unique combination of materials.

Menorah entered in the competition will be exhibited on a special competition website and following the completion of the preliminary judging stage, the menorah chosen to advance to the final round will be judged by our professional panel which will decide on the winning entry.

The winning menorah and its designer will be flown to Macedonia for a lighting ceremony in the presence of the Israeli ambassador to North Macedonia, and the Director of the Balkan Department at the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, government ministers, diplomats, and VIPs invited to light the menorah’s candles.

This international competition is held under the auspices of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mashav, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation, as part of the educational program, “Project 1000 menorahs”, dedicated to preserving the memory of members of the Jewish community of North Macedonia who perished in the Holocaust, and is in partnership with our Macedonian associates participating in the Acta Non Verba project (“Deeds Not Words”) and the Bitola Urban Development Authority, together with the Israeli Association to Preserve and Promote the Culture of the Bitola and Monastir Jewish Communities.
