Post Accreditation Procedures at UFAGJ

POST-ACCREDITATION PROCEDURE

The post-accreditation process is an important quality assurance mechanism in higher education, aimed at ensuring the continuous fulfillment of accreditation standards and the implementation of recommendations made by international experts.

This process focuses on verifying the extent to which recommendations and commitments undertaken by higher education institutions during the accreditation or reaccreditation process have been implemented.

Post-accreditation procedures are conducted at the institutional and/or study program level through physical visits and assessments involving international experts. The process includes the submission of an implementation plan for the recommendations, a self-improvement report, and relevant evidence, which serve as the basis for assessing progress and preparing the final report.

Through this process, higher education institutions are encouraged to systematically address expert recommendations, strengthen quality assurance mechanisms, and engage in the continuous improvement of the quality of higher education.

The process concludes with a decision by the State Quality Council (KShC), based on the report of the international experts and the extent to which the recommendations have been fulfilled. The post-accreditation procedure report constitutes part of the documentation for future accreditation and reaccreditation processes.

The post-accreditation process in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is regulated by the REGULATION No. 04/2025 ON MONITORING AND POST-ACCREDITATION PROCEDURES OF THE KOSOVO ACCREDITATION AGENCY, which defines the principles, procedures, and responsibilities for the implementation of this process.

This Regulation is aligned with Standard 2.3 of the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ESG), which requires quality assurance agencies to complete the accreditation cycle with post-accreditation procedures aimed at the continuous improvement of higher education institutions.
