The University’s membership in prestigious academic networks and organizations represents a strategic pillar for quality assurance and increasing visibility within the global scientific research arena. These partnerships facilitate the internationalization of the institution through the exchange of contemporary methodologies, access to joint research funding, and academic mobility opportunities for students and staff. By aligning itself with elite institutions, the University ensures that its programs comply with international standards, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of our degrees in the global labor market. EUA – European University Association
The European University Association represents more than 800 higher education institutions across 48 European countries. This membership enables the university to participate in discussions on higher education policies in Europe, engage in capacity-building projects, and follow the latest trends of the Bologna Process.
UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union
The Mediterranean Universities Union is a network of research institutions and universities active in promoting academic cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, and the Western Balkans. UNIMED promotes academic, scientific, and cultural cooperation. Through this network, UFAGJ collaborates with regional universities in student and staff exchanges, as well as joint applications for international projects.
This consortium is coordinated by UNIMED (Mediterranean Universities Union) within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. It offers member universities in Italy the opportunity to carry out academic exchanges (mobility) with universities from Region 1 (Albania and Kosovo) and Region 3 institutions that have expressed interest in participation. Our university has successfully completed the COMMO VII project and is currently an active participant in COMMO VIII and IX projects, while inclusion in the COMMO XI project is also planned.
BUA – Balkan Universities Association
The Balkan Universities Association aims to define a shared vision for the future through universities in the region. This membership serves as a platform for regional cooperation, facilitating partnerships with neighboring universities in the fields of scientific research and joint study programs. It represents one of the most important platforms for academic cooperation in our region. This network was established with the clear objective of serving as a bridge between higher education institutions, promoting a common vision for the future of scientific research and education in the Balkans.
ENPHE – The European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education
The European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education consists of 167 member institutions representing 31 countries. This network serves as a voice, a forum, and a bridge for all stakeholders in higher education in physiotherapy. Its mission is to harmonize educational programs and promote new developments in Europe.
COHEHRE – Consortium of Higher Education in Health and Rehabilitation in Europe
The Consortium of Higher Education in Health and Rehabilitation in Europe is an organization founded in 1990 and highly active throughout Europe. It brings together higher education institutions, healthcare professionals, and practitioners to foster networking, exchange of experiences, and the development of interprofessional education in the fields of health and social care. It promotes cooperation, research, and innovation through various activities such as seminars, conferences, and research platforms. “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova has been a member of this organization since January 2024.
Conference of Rectors of Public Universities of Kosovo
The Conference is an advisory body that plays a key role in the development and coordination of the higher education system in the country. It functions as a mechanism of cooperation between public universities and the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), contributing to the drafting and orientation of strategic and programmatic policies for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). One of the Conference’s main functions is the harmonization of public universities’ budget plans, in close cooperation with the Department of Higher Education, with the aim of ensuring more efficient and equitable use of financial resources.
Conference of Rectors of Albanian Universities
This is an advisory body composed of representatives of Albanian universities, established with the aim of fostering cooperation in addressing contemporary challenges of the European Higher Education Area, while supporting one another across various fields.
ABEK – Association of Electronic Libraries of Kosovo
The Association of Electronic Libraries of Kosovo is an organization that promotes the development and coordination of digital libraries in the country, enabling easier access to electronic resources such as books, journals, and scientific databases. It supports cooperation among institutions and capacity building in information management. Through its activities, it contributes to the improvement of education and scientific research in Kosovo.
FSUNK – Federation of University Sports of Kosovo
It is a non-governmental organization that brings together sports associations/organizations established for the practice of sports activities in universities, colleges, and academies accredited by the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA).
IASSW – International Association of Schools of Social Work
The International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) is a global organization affiliated with the United Nations that represents schools and institutions of social work worldwide. It promotes the development of education, research, and standards in social work, while encouraging international cooperation and exchange among academics and professionals. IASSW is also committed to promoting human rights and social justice at the global level.
EASSW – European Association of Schools of Social Work
The European Association of Schools of Social Work (EASSW) is a European organization that brings together more than 300 higher education institutions in the field of social work. It promotes the development of education, research, and international cooperation in this field, while establishing standards for improving the quality of teaching. EASSW serves as a platform for academic exchange and represents social work education at the European and international levels.
Certifications
ECHE – Erasmus Charter for Higher Education
The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) provides the general quality framework for European and international cooperation activities that higher education institutions may carry out within Erasmus+.
The award of an ECHE is a prerequisite for all higher education institutions located in a Programme Country that wish to participate in learning mobility activities for individuals and/or cooperation for innovation and good practices under Erasmus+.
For higher education institutions located in Partner Countries, the ECHE is not required, and the quality framework is established through inter-institutional agreements between higher education institutions.
“Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova has been certified since July 2025, with validity until December 2029.
