Prof. Ass. Dr.Kaltrina Kusari

Vice-Rector for Academic Development and Quality Assurance

Kaltrina Kusari completed her PhD at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Calgary. She teaches at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Gjakova.

Staying true to her commitment to social justice, she has grounded her work in the lived experiences of marginalized migrant populations.

All her classes focus on the role of social workers in family and social development, as well as education. Her most recent research focuses on the experiences of return migrant women to Kosova, with the aim of highlighting the voices of a largely hidden migrant population.

Putting her findings to use, she has served as part of consultancy teams for the Terres des Hommes, Care International Kosovo, Save the Children, and Action Duchenne.

She has also been involved with research projects which explore the experiences of refugees in Canada; homelessness and housing insecurity among immigrants in Calgary; the complexities of the nexus between immigration and disability.
