UFAGJ Exchanges Professional Experiences with the University of Messina in Italy
The Representative of the Office for International Relations at University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, Bujar Nura, together with legal officer Erlinda Rizvanolli Meqa, conducted an official visit to Università degli Studi di Messina in Italy, within the framework of strengthening interinstitutional cooperation and advancing internationalization processes in higher education.
During this visit, the delegation from UFAGJ had the opportunity to hold working meetings and professional visits to several of the most important administrative and academic units of the partner university, including the International Relations Office (IRO), the Legal Office, the Rectorate, and the Erasmus+ Office.
During the meetings held with representatives of the University of Messina, a number of topics related to institutional management, university internationalization, administration of international agreements, and the implementation of Erasmus+ programs were discussed. Special attention was devoted to the exchange of experiences regarding the organization and functioning of international offices, legal and administrative procedures within academic cooperation frameworks, as well as the support provided by the university for international students and staff.
The UFAGJ delegation was closely introduced to the practices and models that the University of Messina applies in international mobility processes, Erasmus+ documentation management, academic recognition procedures, and institutional coordination between administrative and academic units. Furthermore, the forms of support for international students, the digitalization of university services, and strategies for increasing participation in European projects were presented.
The visit to the Rectorate provided an opportunity for discussions related to the institutional vision of the Italian university in the field of internationalization, strategic development, and the expansion of international partnerships. In this context, representatives of both universities expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation in various academic and professional fields.
Likewise, during the visit to the Legal Office, discussions focused on the legal aspects of interinstitutional agreements, procedures for international cooperation, European standards of university administration, and the importance of harmonizing institutional documentation with European practices.
As part of the visit to the Erasmus+ Office, opportunities for expanding the mobility of students and academic staff, exchanging best practices in Erasmus+ project management, and possibilities for developing joint academic and professional initiatives in the future were discussed.
This visit represents an important step toward strengthening the international cooperation of the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, contributing to the advancement of internationalization processes, institutional development, and the creation of sustainable partnerships with European universities.
