The Administrative Staff of University “Fehmi Agani” of Gjakova Conducted a Study Visit to Università degli Studi di Messina
The representative of the Office for International Relations of University “Fehmi Agani” of Gjakova, Bujar Nura, together with Senior Legal Officer Erlinda Rizvanolli Meqa, carried out an official visit to Università degli Studi di Messina from May 18–22 2026, within the framework of strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and advancing internationalization processes in higher education.
During this visit, the UFAGJ delegation had the opportunity to hold working meetings and professional visits to several of the most important administrative and academic units of the partner university, including the International Relations Office (IRO), the Legal Office, the Rectorate, and the Erasmus+ Office.
In meetings held with representatives of Università degli Studi di Messina, a wide range of topics related to institutional management, university internationalization, administration of international agreements, and the implementation of Erasmus+ programmes were discussed. Special attention was dedicated to the exchange of experiences regarding the organization and functioning of international offices, legal and administrative procedures within academic cooperation frameworks, as well as the support provided by the university for international students and staff.
The UFAGJ delegation was closely acquainted with the practices and models applied by the University of Messina in international mobility processes, Erasmus+ documentation management, academic recognition procedures, and institutional coordination between administrative and academic units. Furthermore, the university presented its support mechanisms for international students, the digitalization of university services, and strategies aimed at increasing participation in European projects.
The visit to the Rectorate provided an opportunity for discussions regarding the Italian university’s institutional vision in the fields of internationalization, strategic development, and the expansion of international partnerships. In this context, representatives of both universities expressed their willingness to deepen cooperation in various academic and professional fields.
Additionally, during the visit to the Legal Office, discussions focused on the legal aspects of inter-institutional agreements, procedures for international cooperation, European standards of university administration, and the importance of harmonizing institutional documentation with European practices.
As part of the visit to the Erasmus+ Office, the participants discussed opportunities for expanding the mobility of students and academic staff, exchanging best practices in the management of Erasmus+ projects, and exploring possibilities for the development of joint academic and professional initiatives in the future.
This visit represents an important step toward strengthening the international cooperation of University “Fehmi Agani” of Gjakova, contributing to the advancement of internationalization processes, institutional development, and the establishment of sustainable partnerships with European universities.
