Study Visit in Vienna within SHER program for International Relation Office IRO in Public Universities

Within the framework of the Support Higher Education Reform Experts (SHER) program, from date  April  20 -23, 2026a representative from the International Relations Office (IRO) of Universet “Fehmi Agani”, mr. Bujar Nura, participated in a study visit in Vienna, Austria.

The visit was focused on providing a comprehensive overview of the Bologna Process, with particular emphasis on contemporary developments in higher education, quality assurance,

During the working sessions, participants had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into Austrian and European practices related to:

  • The implementation of the principles of the Bologna Process;

  • Institutional strategies for internationalization;

  • Strengthening international cooperation and academic partnerships;

  • The role of mobility, Erasmus+ programmes, and the international dimension in institutional development.

The study visits to the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), the Medical University of Vienna, the Vienna University of Technology, and the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna served as a valuable platform for exchanging experiences with international experts and representatives of higher education institutions, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practices that support reform processes and the internationalization agenda at the university.

Participation in this activity represents an important step tara strengthening institutional capacities and aligning with the standards of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), in support of enhancing quality and the international dimension of the university.

Moreover, this visit holds particular importance for UFAGJ in several strategic dimensions:

  • Strengthening institutional internationalization

  • Supporting higher education reforms

  • Capacity building of university staff

  • Opportunities for international partnerships and projects

  • Better positioning of UFAGJ within the European Higher Education Area

  • Transfer of good practices into the university

This study visit reinforces UFAGJ’s commitment to modernization, international cooperation, and active engagement in European higher education developments.
