UFAGJ and the Erasmus+ Office organized an information session on Erasmus+ projects and scholarships
On 11 December, at the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova was held an informative session dedicated to projects and scholarships Erasmus+, organized by the Office of Erasmus+ in cooperation with the Office for International Cooperation and Projects at UFAGJ.
The session was opened by the Rector, Prof. Ass. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, who in his speech of the occasion expressed deep gratitude towards the Erasmus+ Office for Kosovo for the continuous support and close cooperation over years. He emphasized that the programs Erasmus+ are an important pillar in the internationalization of the university, creating valuable opportunities for the professional development of the staff, as well as for the academic and cultural growth of the students. The Rector underlined that these programs enable the institution to expand the network of international partnerships, to increase the quality of education and to offer an environment more open and dynamic for the whole university community.
In the following, Ms. Blerina Ziaqa, representative of the program Erasmus+ for Kosovo, presented the opportunities that offers the program for the year 2026. She emphasized the importance of the international dimension of the program Erasmus+, sharing information about: KA1 – Exchanges short-term and the mobilities. Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters, KA2 – Projects for the building of capacities in higher education. The participants were introduced also with the programs Jean Monnet and the initiatives for virtual exchanges in higher education.
The students beneficiaries of the program Erasmus+ from the major English Language – Translation and Interpreting, Eda Baraku and Elma Keraxhija, shared with the participants a detailed and very inspiring experience from their mobility at the University of Padua, Italy. They initially told about the process of application, clarifying the steps that they followed, the documentation necessary and the support that they received from the office of international cooperation during the whole procedure.
In the continuation, the students shared also the challenges that accompanied them during their stay in Italy, such as the adaptation in a new academic environment, the management of the load of studies and the cultural and linguistic challenges. However, they emphasized that these challenges are transformed into valuable experiences that have contributed in the strengthening of their independence, intercultural skills and professional self-confidence.
They underlined that the participation in Erasmus+ has had a profound positive impact in their academic and professional development, opening new doors in the aspect of career and international perspectives.
Further, professor Nazli Tyfekçi presented the project BEWBU, which is being implemented in the framework of the calls KA2 – Capacity Building in Higher Education.
