Project: “Mitigating Migration Challenges in the Western Balkans: Bridging the Skills Gap for Social Care Providers via Curricula Enhancement and Micro Credential Development”
Goal: Enhance the capacity of students and social workers in the Western Balkans to address and empower migrant communities through culturally competent approaches
Specific Objective 1 To create a set of guidelines for integrating topics related to migration into existing curricula
Aktivities :
- Conduct thorough needs assessments to explore challenges and opportunities associated with migration in Kosovo and Albania
- Develop the guidelines to introduce micro credentials as lifelong learning opportunities,
- Organize two roundtables, one in Kosovo and one in Albania, on discussing the migration challenges
- Organize a modelling practitioners day in Austria (Salzburg) as a showcase for project partners
- Organize practitioners’ days in Kosovo and Albania with social care service providers
Specific Objective 2 To revise and enrich the curricula of social sciences and psychology faculties in partner educational institutions to incorporate topics related to migration
Activities:
- Conduct a collaborative review of the existing social care curriculum, considering the findings of the needs assessment and guidelines
- Identify overarching themes or topics in the existing curriculum to be updated to be more applicable
- Develop ‘from theory to practice’ training programs for academic staf,
- Training of academic staff in in the newly developed curricula and courses
- Develop a book/collection of case studies
- Pilot (implementation) revised curricula and courses in WV countries
Specific Objective 3 To develop and pilot digital short micro credential courses tailored for practicing social workers, focusing on specialized knowledge and skills necessary to address the u nique neeeds and challenges faced by migrants.
Activities :
- Develop training programs for ToT in micro credentials in social care migration related topics
- Training of trainers from academic staff in university partners in to design and implement micro credential courses
- Development of micro credential courses in university beneficiary partners on certain migration topics, identified with assessment.
- Pilot the designed micro credential courses in selected Western Balkans HEIs to gather feedback through a summer school programs
- Finalize the micro credential courses and implement them in the future
