"Fehmi Agani" University in Gjakova continues preparations for institutional reaccreditation in cooperation with the SHER Program

The University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, with the support of the “Sustainable Higher Education and Research in Kosovo (SHER)” programme, jointly organized a two-day workshop on 9 and 10 October 2026 as part of the preparations for the institutional reaccreditation process. The workshop was held at Hotel Dukagjini in Peja, with the aim of contributing to the improvement of the Self-Evaluation Report and aligning it with the standards and indicators of the Kosovo Accreditation Agency (KAA).

The workshop brought together members of the Governing Council, the University’s management, academic staff, administrative staff, and student representatives, demonstrating the importance of involving all university structures in the quality assurance process and preparations for institutional accreditation.

The workshop was opened with welcoming remarks by Prof. Ass. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, Rector of UFAGJ, and Prof. Dr. Bujar Pira, an expert from the SHER Programme.

On the first day, participants were introduced to the institutional reaccreditation process and the visit of international experts, with particular emphasis on the visit agenda and the Self-Evaluation Report (SER). The sessions were led by Prof. Dr. Bujar Pira, who presented the working methodology and organized participants into thematic working groups.

The group work focused on four main areas: institutional governance and strategy; internal quality assurance; academic staff and scientific research; and students, alumni, and support services.

Through an analysis of the draft Self-Evaluation Report, participants examined its compliance with the KAA standards and indicators, aiming to identify potential gaps and determine areas requiring improvement. The workshop also included presentations of the findings by the working groups, followed by a joint discussion of the results of the analysis.

This workshop represents an important step towards strengthening the quality culture at the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, enhancing cooperation among university structures, and preparing the institution for a comprehensive and well-structured institutional accreditation process.

The UFAGJ management expresses its gratitude and appreciation to the leadership of the SHER Programme for its continued support throughout the important institutional reaccreditation processes.

The University remains committed to the continuous improvement of educational quality, the advancement of academic and institutional standards, and the creation of a university environment that supports academic development, scientific research, and student success.
