Information session on Volunteering Grants held by KCSF
Gjakova, October 5, 2026
The “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova (UFAGJ) hosted an information session titled “Grants for Volunteering,” organized by the Kosovar Civil Society Foundation (KCSF) and Community Building Mitrovica (CBM), through the Civil Society Resource Center in Kosovo.
The session aimed to inform participants about the opportunities available through the Volunteer Grants Scheme, which seeks to support civic activism initiatives and promote volunteering in Kosovo.
During the session, the objectives of the grant scheme, application criteria and opportunities were presented, as well as the ways in which individuals, unregistered initiatives, and non-governmental organizations can develop and implement initiatives addressing community needs and issues.
Under the call, applicants may request support for projects lasting up to 12 months, while the maximum grant amount that can be requested is €5,000.
A special part of the session focused on sharing concrete experiences from volunteering initiatives and their impact on the community. Ideal Zhaveli, a civil society member and Executive Director of ACTIVISM ROOTS, shared with participants his experience in developing civic activism at the local level, his experiences with volunteer work, the challenges encountered during the implementation of initiatives, and their impact on the community.
Through this session, participants had the opportunity to learn more about opportunities for civic engagement and the ways to apply for financial support for volunteering initiatives.
The Civil Society Resource Center in Kosovo aims to contribute to strengthening the capacities of civil society organizations through training, mentoring and counseling, technical assistance services, and the provision of information on organizational development and active citizenship.
