"Fehmi Agani" University in Gjakova strengthens staff capacity in the field of cybersecurity

As part of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the Didactic Center for Teaching Excellence of the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova organized the training “Cybersecurity and Online Privacy”, in cooperation with the “Jakova” Association of Intellectuals, within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the two institutions.

The training was dedicated to the academic and administrative staff of UFAGJ and was delivered by MSc. Yll Ferizi, an expert in the field, who addressed important topics related to digital security, data protection, and the safe use of technology in the university environment.

During the training, participants were informed about key cybersecurity practices, with a focus on identifying fraudulent emails (phishing), creating and managing secure passwords, using multi-factor authentication (MFA), as well as protecting devices and Wi-Fi networks.

Particular attention was paid to the secure storage and sharing of information, responding to potential cybersecurity incidents, as well as the risks associated with the use of cloud services, online platforms, and Artificial Intelligence tools. In this context, the importance of protecting student data and institutional information in the daily academic and administrative work was emphasized.

The activity was characterized by high interest and participation among staff, demonstrating the importance attached to digital security, the protection of personal data, and the safeguarding of institutional information.

Through this activity, the Didactic Center for Teaching Excellence contributes to the continuous professional development of staff and the strengthening of their digital competencies, while promoting the implementation of safe and responsible practices in the use of technology.

The organization of this training demonstrates the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in supporting staff professional development and addressing emerging needs arising from the digital transformation of higher education.
