Career Development Office Prepares an Informational Leaflet for New Students at “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova
With the start of the new academic year 2026/2027, the Career Development Office of the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova has prepared an informational leaflet for new students, who today began their academic journey at this higher education institution.
The leaflet aims to provide first-year students with general and practical information about the university, their rights and responsibilities, as well as the opportunities available during their studies, helping them navigate more easily and adapt to university life.
The leaflet presents the five faculties of the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova: the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Faculty of Applied Sciences, as well as the organization of the academic year, including the winter and summer semesters.
A dedicated section focuses on students’ rights, including:
The right to attend lectures and academic activities;
Access to the library and student services;
Freedom to express ideas and opinions;
Participation in student representation;
Establishment and membership in clubs and associations;
The right to submit complaints.
The leaflet also highlights students’ responsibilities, including respecting university regulations, professors, staff, and fellow students, adhering to the academic schedule and teaching process, as well as taking care of university facilities and equipment. Students are encouraged to be active in lectures, student organizations, academic activities, practical work, and cultural and sports activities.
The leaflet also presents opportunities offered by the university for students’ academic and professional development, such as scholarships, professional internships, training programs, career counseling and guidance through the Career Development Office, as well as opportunities for international mobility and semester-related services.
As part of the information on support services, students are also introduced to the university institutions and units where they can seek assistance and support, including the Ombudsperson, Central University Library, University Center for Psychosocial Counseling, University Health Center, and the Institute for Environment and Health.
Finally, students are reminded of the importance of regularly following lecture schedules, faculty announcements, examination deadlines, and notifications on the University Management System (UMS) as part of successfully organizing their studies.
Through this initiative, the Career Development Office aims to contribute to the information, orientation, and integration of new students, encouraging them to make use of the opportunities offered by the university and to become active participants in academic and university life.
