The University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, with the support of the SHER Program, organized a two-day workshop on 14–15 May dedicated to the drafting of the Strategic Plan 2026–2030. The workshop was held at Hotel SHARRI in Prevallë and brought together university management, academic and administrative staff, students, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), civil society, and industry.

The workshop was officially opened by the Rector of the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, Drilon Bunjaku, who emphasized the importance of developing a comprehensive and long-term strategy that will serve as the foundation for the university’s institutional development over the next five years. He highlighted that the strategic process aims to enhance the quality of teaching, scientific research, internationalization, and the strengthening of the university’s role in serving the community.

The participants were also welcomed by the representative of the SHER Project, Mr. Nehat Dervishi, who confirmed the continuous support that the SHER Program has provided to all public higher education institutions in Kosovo in the process of drafting strategic plans and preparing for institutional accreditation. He further emphasized the concrete support currently being provided to the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, based on the cooperation agreement between the university management and the leadership of the SHER Program, which is funded by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) and the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of Kosovo.

The attendees were also addressed by the Chairperson of the Steering Council of UFAGJ, Ms. Majlinda Haxhikadrija Ramadani, and the representative of MESTI, Mr. Bekim Samadraxha, who highlighted the importance of strategic planning for the development and advancement of higher education in Kosovo.

As part of the workshop, SHER Program expert Prof. Dr. Bujar Pira presented the methodology for developing the strategic plan and facilitated discussions on the analysis of the university’s current situation, the identification of strategic priorities, and the definition of development objectives.

During the working sessions, participants contributed through thematic groups to conduct the SWOT analysis, discuss the university’s vision, mission, and institutional values, as well as identify key performance indicators and implementation mechanisms for the new strategy.

The Rector of the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, Drilon Bunjaku, thanked all participants for their engagement and willingness to contribute to the drafting of this important strategic document for the university, emphasizing that the broad involvement of institutional stakeholders and external partners is essential for building a sustainable and development-oriented vision for UFAGJ.

The drafting of the Strategic Plan 2026–2030 represents an important process for the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, aiming to strengthen institutional capacities and guide the university towards sustainable academic and scientific development.
