The University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova (UFAGJ) and the Association of Intellectuals “Jakova” in Gjakova have today officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with the aim of expanding and deepening institutional cooperation in the academic, scientific, and cultural fields.

The agreement was signed by the Rector of UFAGJ, Prof. Ass. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, and the President of the Association of Intellectuals “Jakova,” Prof. Dr. Ruzhdi Sefa. It builds upon the existing agreement from 2022 and advances it through new and more structured forms of cooperation. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Prof. Dr. Sindorela Doli-Kryeziu, Director of the Didactic Center for Excellence in Teaching, and Ms. Nita Pruthi, Acting Secretary General.

Within the framework of this agreement, new avenues are opened for deepening inter-institutional cooperation, creating concrete opportunities for the exchange of academic and research staff, the implementation of joint scientific projects, the organization of lectures, seminars, and conferences, the circulation of publications and academic materials, the development of study visits, as well as the professional advancement of academic and administrative staff and members of the Association of Intellectuals “Jakova.”

On this occasion, Rector Bunjaku emphasized that the Association of Intellectuals “Jakova” represents an important asset not only for society in the Municipality of Gjakova, but also for Kosovo as a whole. He highly valued the fact that, despite modest financial resources, the association has managed to carry out a large number of activities with social impact, demonstrating that willpower, dedication, and professional commitment are key elements in promoting intellectual values. The Rector also stressed the importance of promoting these activities through broader networks of academic institutions and intellectual forums, in support of advancing the intellectual values of Kosovar society.

In this context, Rector Bunjaku assessed the agreement as an important step toward strengthening the role of the University “Fehmi Agani” in the academic, cultural, and intellectual life of the city and beyond, emphasizing that cooperation with the Association of Intellectuals “Jakova” creates sustainable bridges between academic knowledge, civic engagement, and social contribution, in the service of sustainable community development.

On his part, the President of the Association of Intellectuals “Jakova,” Prof. Dr. Ruzhdi Sefa, expressed his gratitude for the readiness and cooperation shown by the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, describing this agreement as an important opportunity to strengthen the association’s intellectual and scientific activities. He emphasized that the partnership with UFAGJ creates new spaces for the active involvement of intellectuals in academic, research, and cultural projects, as well as for a more structured linkage of academic knowledge with the real needs of society.

This cooperation is expected to contribute to strengthening intergenerational connections and advancing intellectual life in Gjakova and beyond.
