The University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova host of the Fifth Scientific International Conference on Dialogue between Civilizations and Cultures

On April 29 and 30, the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova was host of the 5th International Scientific Conference on the theme: ‘’Dialogue between Civilizations and Cultures: Cultural and Technological Integration, Challenges and Opportunities’’, organized in cooperation with Tafila Technical University from Jordan.

This scientific event gathered academicians and scholars from six different countries and marked a significant moment for the deepening of the international cooperation in higher education and scientific research sphere. In the opening ceremony participated high representatives of institutions and academics from Kosovo, Jordan, Morocco and other countries.

The conference was opened with the greeting speeches of the Head of the Scientific Committee, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Matarneh, who emphasized the honour and significance to initiate the procedures of this conference, on behalf of the delegation of the Tafila Technical University from Jordan. This event marks a huge step towards the development of cultural dialogue and exchange of knowledge between our universities.

In his greeting speech, MESTI deputy, Mr. Arsim Ademi esteemed highly the topics of the conference, and said that the dialogue between civilizations is crucial for understanding each other. Through this conference, we learn for different cultures and traditions, which helps us face better the challenges and enables us to utilize opportunities.

The Rector of the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova, Prof. Ass.Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, expressed that this conference is a proof of our mutual commitment for advancing scientific knowledge and to build intercultural communication bridges in an era characterized with major challenges and fast technological transformations. Themes that will be elaborated are not luxury, but a necessity for the preservation of peace and building of a stable world.

On the other hand, the Head of the Conference and Dean of the College of Arts from Tafila Technical University Tariq Alsoud emphasized the fact that: today more than ever, we are in need of dialogue between civilizations and cultures and utilizations of technology in order to draw nations together, and not separate them. This conference is a concrete step in this direction, uniting academics and scholars from various countries with the mutual purpose for building bridges of understanding.

The Conference, which lasted two days, included presentations from Kosovo, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and other countries on themes such as|: intercultural dialogue, technology and its impact on culture, the role of education in identity preservation, gender equality, and international perspectives of coexistence.

The event was closed on April 30, with the provision of certificates and gratitude letters for the participants, and with the presentation of the main recommendations of the scientific works.
