On 14.12.2024, within the framework of the JaTech initiative for Digital Gjakova organized by the Municipality of Gjakova, a meeting was held with stakeholders in the field of ICT to support the initiative to create a TechHub in Gjakova.

At the meeting, numerous ideas were discussed for investment opportunities and the creation of a TechHub in Gjakova. The discussions continued with the analysis of potential challenges that may arise, where one of the concerns was the lack of engineering programs, respectively study programs related to the field of ICT.

Rector Bunjaku during the discussions emphasized to industry representatives that the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova is in the process of accrediting the Informatics Engineering study program.

This news was welcomed by stakeholder and moreover, the indispensable need for such a field in the Gjakova Region was once again emphasized, due to the great interest of the youth of Gjakova in studying this field. The participating companies expressed their willingness to support the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova regarding practical work and providing support in joint research projects related to the industry.

Among the many things that were discussed, the investment capacity of 50 Million Euros of the participants in this meeting of the first edition of the JaTech initiative for digital Gjakova was also emphasized.

The meeting ended by visiting other industries in the Municipality of Gjakova, and to see the possibilities of cooperation with other industries related to the fields of ICT.
