The Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education successfully organized the International Scientific Conference “Social Work, Education and Innovation in Social Sciences.” The conference brought together a broad spectrum of professionals, researchers, presenters, professors, and students of science and research from the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, national universities in Kosovo, universities from Albania, North Macedonia, and the United States.

Within the framework of the International Scientific Conference, the keynote speakers included: Ardian Gola – Chairman of the Commission for Education, Science, Technology, Innovation, Culture, Youth and Sports; Arbërie Nagavci – Minister of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation; Rector of UFAGJ Prof. Ass. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku; Prof. William R. Henninger IV, PhD from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, USA; and the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Ass. Dr. Ferdi Kamberi.

More than 70 participants with their scientific, research, and innovative works took part in the conference, presenting studies, scientific research, professional work, knowledge, and papers, thereby contributing valuable insights to scientific knowledge. The conference was also attended by personalities from political, economic, social, cultural, and national life.

The conference was organized in cooperation with several universities and institutions, including: University of Elbasan “Aleksandër Xhuvani”, University of Shkodra “Luigj Gurakuqi”, the University of Northern Iowa, South East European University, University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, University of Mitrovica “Isa Boletini”, Public University “Kadri Zeka” in Gjilan, University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti”, the Albanian Institute of Sociology, and the Institute of Sociology, Demographic Research and Innovation.

The conference included six sessions:

ST1: Fehmi Agani – Martyr of the Nation and Science

ST2: Practices and Models of Social Work

ST3: Education and Research in Didactic Models

ST4: Human Rights and Freedoms

ST5: Social Work and Deviant Behaviors in Society

ST6: Sustainability, Digitalization, and Innovation in the Context of Change

Particular importance was given to the first session, “Fehmi Agani – Martyr of the Nation and Science,” organized in cooperation with the Albanian Institute of Sociology in honor of the 25th anniversary of the murder of Professor Fehmi Agani.

During this session, the “Fehmi Agani Award for Excellence in Research and Practice” (Social and Human Sciences) was also presented. The award decision was made by the Academic Contributions Evaluation Commission, composed of 21 researchers from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and the diaspora. This award was presented to Professor and researcher Prof. Ass. Dr. Ferdi Kamberi, who is also the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova.
