At the invitation of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor William Henninger IV, PhD from the United States delivered an open lecture to students of University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova, on the topic “Contemporary Challenges of Social Work.”

In the opening remarks, the Rector of University “Fehmi Agani”, Prof. Ass. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, greeted the attendees and thanked Professor William for his visit to Gjakova and for providing students with the opportunity to engage closely with this important topic.

Prof. Dr. Behxhet Gaxhiqi spoke about social work in contemporary Kosovo, the modernization of social services, contemporary practices, and future-oriented perspectives. Meanwhile, Prof. Ass. Dr. Ferdi Kamberi focused on the treatment of social work in modern society, its challenges, and developmental directions.

Professor William Henninger IV, PhD, presented the American model of social work, the relationship between individuals and community, the nature and types of social services in the United States, contemporary challenges in social work, dementia, and other related issues.

After the lectures, students engaged in discussion and asked questions to Professor Henninger. For him, this was his second visit to Gjakova, and he expressed great enthusiasm about speaking to the students.

This activity continues a series of social science events organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences in cooperation with students, academic staff, and the management of University “Fehmi Agani”.
