On 23 January 2024, Rector Prof. Ass. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, together with the two Vice Rectors, Prof. Ass. Dr. Dafina Kaçuri and Prof. Ass. Dr. Arben Boshnjaku, welcomed the Chairman of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (OEK), Mr. Lulzim Rafuna, along with the Director of the Department of Regional Units at OEK, Mr. Samir Lleshi, and the Chairman of the Steering Council of the Gjakova Regional Unit of OEK, Mr. Behar Ferizi, who is also the Chair of the Advisory Board of the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova.

Initially, Rector Bunjaku welcomed the representatives of OEK to UFAGJ and informed them about the University, its achievements, and objectives for the near future. He also emphasized the importance of aligning labor market demands with study programs. Afterwards, Chairman Rafuna presented information about the work, engagement, and achievements of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce.

Following a very productive and concrete meeting between the management of UFAGJ and the representatives of OEK, a cooperation agreement was signed between the University “Fehmi Agani” in Gjakova and the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (OEK).

This agreement paves the way for stronger connections between the labor market and higher education institutions, which is an essential component for the future of students and youth. The agreement also strengthens the role and presence of the University’s Industrial Advisory Board. Furthermore, the importance of strengthening health tourism was highlighted as essential for the country’s economy and for connecting higher education, tourism, and the private sector.
