The documentary film "Refugee Girls" and the discussion with Director Lombroso was held

University "Fehmi Agani" in Gjakova in collaboration with UNIMED presented to its students the film "Refugee Girls" directed by Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso.

This was a unique opportunity for our students to reflect on important refugee topics and to promote cultural and social dialogue in an open and friendly environment.

The film follows the story of three student girls who are refugees in Rome and Barcelona. Through this perspective, "Refugee Girls" captures the new challenges and opportunities that Europe offers to refugees, while describing their path to integration and the creation of a new identity.

The film was received with great interest by our students and after the screening, the film's director, Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso, was a special guest for discussion. The director shared his experience of making this film until the finalization of the film while the attendees shared their experiences and brought questions about the film.

Also present online in the discussion was the UNIMED Project Officer Mrs. Ludovica De Benedetti.

"Refugee Girls" is the result of a successful collaboration between UNIMED, Sapienza University of Rome, Fundació Solidaritat of the University of Barcelona, the European University Association (EUA) and the International Organization for Migration within the UNI(di)VERSITY project , supported by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union. The documentary was officially released at the Visioni dal Mondo International Documentary Festival in Milan and was screened on Sunday 17 September in the presence of the director. It was further projected on September 22 at the Foro Italico University of Rome - within the framework of the ENSE 2023 Forum - and on October 3, 2023 at the premises of the University of Barcelona.
