UGJFA hosted a two - day visit for students and teachers Of Drake University from USA's IOWA
Yesterday and today, the
University of Gjakova "Fehmi Agani" hosted an American delegation
consisting of professors and students from Drake University of Iowa State in
the US, who are staying in Kosovo for a several day visit. This delegation was
received by the management of the university and the Rector, Prof. Dr. Shaban
Buza, who after the welcome speech, delivered a lecture on the education system
in Kosovo, especially for higher education.
On the same day, members of the delegation had the opportunity to visit cultural heritage institutions in Gjakova, such as the Teke of Shejh Emini, Ethnological Museum, the Hadum Mosque and the old Bazar. The students were welcomed by the leaders of these institutions, who informed them about the history and activities of each facility.
For the second day, Drake University students met with representatives of UGJFA students, where they had the opportunity to get to know each other and discuss them closely with each other. According to the agenda, their visit was concluded with a lecture on the Kosovo population, provided by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. dr. Ass. Dr. Mimoza Dushi.
The US delegation expressed satisfaction with the reception that was made, stating the interest that the cooperation and exchange of professors and students between Kosovo and the IOWA educational institutions will continue in the future.
