The YMCA organization along with UNICEF and in partnership with the University "Fehmi Agani" in Gjakova, will hold a workshop to train young trainers for UPSHIFT and PODIUM training methodologies.

UPSHIFT aims to help young people take responsibility for their present and future as entrepreneurs, employees and global citizens. It also aims to develop all professional and transferable skills through experiential learning practices. Increasing capacity and mindset through mentoring, outreach and inspiration will create a favorable environment for them to succeed in every aspect of life.

PODIUM is a social advocacy workshop that teaches young people and teenagers in Kosovo how to advocate for their rights and needs. In the workshop, young people and teenagers are trained to address challenges and gain public support for a particular cause or policy - helping them understand their role in social change and building their confidence in advocacy.

The UPSHIFT and PODIUM programs are workshops for Impact on Society and Social Advocacy. The programs are designed for young men and women by the UNICEF office in Kosovo and are developed in collaboration with professionally trained mentors. The participants in this training will be trained in these methodologies which they can use for their personal and professional development as well as to have the opportunity to become a mentor of groups of young people from the Gjakova region.

Participants will be trained in project writing, project design and budgeting based on these two methodologies. The training will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2024, starting from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Faculty of Education, Room no. 1. Likewise, all students of the University "Fehmi Agani" in Gjakova have the right to participate in this training.

Participants who take part in this training will be invited by the YMCA organization to professional mentoring and after completing the mentoring in UPSHIFT and PODIUM formats, they will be certified by the YMCA organization and UNICEF. Certificate which is internationally recognized and valid will be given as well.
