Students of the Faculty of Medicine participate in the training on "Palliative and end-of-life care" held in Ghent, Belgium

In Ghent, Belgium, under the organization of "Artevelde University of Applied Sciences", from 27.01.2024 to 03.02.2024, was held the global level training in the field of Palliative Care IPPE.

In this training, in addition to participants from different countries of Europe, the USA and Africa, from the University "Fehmi Agani", Gjakovë, four students from the Faculty of Medicine, department of nursing, Arbnore Kuqi, Dhurata Hakaj, Getoar Selmonaj from the 3rd year of studies and Ardiana Halilaj from the 2nd year.

The main purpose of the training on "Palliative care in old age" was to give students the opportunity to collaborate in international, intercultural and interdisciplinary teams for the care of clients in the last part of their life (palliative care).

The training summary is composed of different topics such as; communication, pain and symptom control, complementary care, spiritual and existential pain, ethical aspects and medical end of life decisions, euthanasia, palliative care and patients' rights.
