On February 27, 2024, the Rector of the University ‘’Fehmi Agani’’ in Gjakova, Prof, Ass.Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, accompanied by the Coordinator of the Didactic Center for Excellence in Teaching Prof. Dr. Sindorela Doli-Kryeziu, took part in a meeting at the Directorate of Education in Gjakova. They were welcomed by the Director Mrs. Eranda Kumnova-Baçi.

There were many topics discussed in this meeting, all of which related to the sector of education in our municipality. The discussion revolved around the trainings and professional development opportunities offered by Didactic Center for Excellence and Teaching. In addition, UFAGJ representatives shared that our Board of Innovation and Entrepreneurship has proposed to the UFAGJ management the need for a computer science program, seeing that there is a labor shortage in this area in Kosovo and the region. UFAGJ representative inquired about the Director’s perspective about the need for such programs.

Mrs. Kumnova-Baçi emphasized that between 35%-45% of high school graduates in Gjakova are interested in continuing their university education in computer sciences, offering further support for the development of a University program which respond to these student interests. Thus, the development of a computer engineering program  is considered an important aspect of further collaborations between UFAGj and the Directorate of Education in Gjakova.
