Workshop on Educational Experiments and Environmental Education for Children

In the Natural Sciences Laboratory of the Faculty of Education at the University "Fehmi Agani" in Gjakova, a workshop titled "Fun and Educational Experiments for Children and Methods for Environmental Education" was organized, led by Ass. MSc. Vllaznim Mula, PhD (c). This workshop was conducted within the TAKE (Together Advancing Kosovo’s Training and Employment within the Education Sector) project, supported by Caritas Switzerland (CACH) and implemented by the Faculty of Education at the University of Prishtina, involving all faculties of education in Kosovo’s public universities.

The primary objective was to enhance educators' professional skills through experimental methods in preschool education, integrating concepts from chemistry, physics, and biology. Participants engaged in interactive, safe, and easy-to-implement experiments, fostering curiosity and hands-on learning among children.

A special highlight was the experience shared by Fitore Panduri, a former university student and educator, who presented her successful practices in implementing scientific experiments with children.

In the afternoon session, the focus shifted to environmental education, where discussions centered on the importance of ecological awareness and sustainability through interactive activities. The workshop concluded with an open reflection session, where participants exchanged ideas on implementing experiments in their classrooms and emphasized the need for further training.

This training had a significant impact, equipping educators with valuable knowledge to integrate scientific experiments into early childhood education and fostering an innovative approach to teaching.
